Vanessa of Green Acres Meets Paris Introduction

Hi Vanessa! What’s the name of your blog.

Green Acres Meets Paris.

Where are you from?

Clinton, Tennessee.

Tell us a little bit more about you and your blog, Green Acres Meets Paris.

I got an antique dress form and wanted to try and share some fashion inspiration; my blog has become more than just my dress form outfit posts; it has grown into a blog that I’m proud of — an eclectic mix of fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and travel.

What’s been the hardest business lesson you’ve learned from blogging?

How to monetize and use affiliate marketing through my blog, and how to use social media outlets to promote my blog.

What does a typical workday for you look like? Whether you’re a full-time blogger or not, we’d love to learn what your schedule looks like and how you manage it all.

I get up at 5:15 AM to work on various blog posts, and then I work after I get off my full-time job as a Medical Assistant; I also work on various blog posts on the weekends.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone just starting out in the blog world?

Don’t compare your blog to other, more seasoned bloggers.

What’s been your favorite project, or post you’ve worked on? Give us details into the inspiration behind it, the back story, and so on. Don’t forget to provide a link to the post!

I really like working on my dress form outfit posts; they remind me of why I started my blog in the first place; when I started the dress form outfit posts, they were outfits that I actually wore; nowadays, the dress form outfits are more of a creative fashion outlet that lets me mix and match fashion styles that I love and wear with styles that would allow me to step out of my fashion comfort zone; here is one of my recent dress form outfit posts!

How has blogging helped you in your day-to-day life or 9-5 life? Are there tools you’ve learned that you can apply to it? Has it helped you land a new/different job? Or have you created a new business from it all?

Blogging has helped me step back and take a look at the fashion and styles of people of varying demographics, ages, and economic backgrounds; even after 8 years as a blogger, I’m still learning about all the tools that I can use to grow my blog; I haven’t landed a new or different job, and I have not created a new business from it; all of that still baffles me and often feels like it doesn’t apply to me or my blog.

What’s your favorite blogging hack or trick?

Getting up early and putting in the work on my blog.
