Behind The Blog With Casey Of The Everyday Exchange

The Everyday Exchange Blog

What’s the name of your blog?

The Everyday Exchange

Where do you live?

Atlanta, Georgia

Tell us how did you start your blog and what did it take to get to where it is today?

For as long as I can remember I’ve been a resource for friends and family. I LOVE being able to answer questions like “Where’d you get that jacket?” “What’s a good restaurant to go to for date night?” or “What are some tips for traveling with kids?” The blog was born out of my desire to share the things I love and has beautifully evolved into more than just products and travel guides. Using my life experience to share ideas and observations that are intended to encourage others has also taken a front seat over on the blog.

Take us behind the blog, what does a typical work day look like?

My full-time job is taking care of two small people who demand my attention a good majority of the day. My blog work is sporadic and normally done in the morning hours after my workout and before the kids wake up or while the kids are napping. It’s not glamorous, but I absolutely love it so it’s not really “work” for me.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone who is just getting started

If it’s not fun, don’t do it. If it’s not YOU, don’t do it. Be who YOU are because there is no one else like YOU. Don’t allow your goals to get derailed by trying to be someone who God never intended you to be.

How do you stay inspired?

I think inspiration can come from anywhere really. Being a former athlete I find a lot of inspiration from those individuals that persevere when things are difficult and it keeps me inspired. Right now I’m in the thick of being a mom to littles so a lot of my inspiration comes from day to day life and focusing on the good. “When you focus on the good the good gets better.”

Has your blog helped you in other ways with your career or day to day life?

It’s always surprising where a platform like this can lead or who you will meet in the process. I’ve been able to hone in on community and storytelling through words and pictures and because of this I’ve picked up photography side gigs, given a speech to a room full of high school students & various other things that I could have never imagined I would be doing!

Blogger or Influencer? What do you consider yourself and why?

I don’t think of myself in those terms. I am just your typical girlfriend sharing the things I love plus a little life experience and craziness along the way and having fun doing it!

Which social media platform do you wish you knew more about or dedicated more time to

I don’t think I could handle any more social media platforms!

We love a cocktail! If you were stranded on a deserted island what would be the one cocktail you’d take with you.

A margarita, naturally.
