Nina of Nina Piccini Introduction

Hi Nina! What’s the name of your blog.

Nina Piccini.

Where are you from?

Rochester, New York.

Tell us a little bit more about you and your blog, Nina Piccini.

I am a photographer and social media manager and I help small businesses improve their online presence with great visuals and social media management.

Give us your best tip to staying on top of the blog/work/life balance?

Time blocking! I even schedule my gym and grocery time.

Fill in the blank. What people don’t realize about blogging is….

With the right tools and strategies it doesn’t need to be a 24/7 job!

What are three things you wish you knew about blogging before you started?

You don’t have to spend a lot of money to be recognized, seen, and grow a community.

What skills and qualities do you think are necessary for a successful and professional blogger?

Community building, authentic voice, and staying ahead of content trends.

What has blogging taught you/given you that no other career or job has before?

How to write really compelling content.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone just starting out in the blog world?

Just start. It’s going to be messy at first, maybe even slow, but get your voice out there and let people know what you’re all about!

What does a typical work day for you look like? Whether you’re a full time blogger or not, we’d love to learn what your schedule looks like and how you manage it all.

I just took my business full time in September! Typically Mondays and Wednesdays I reserve as office days, curating content for myself and clients, Tuesdays and Thursdays I shoot content, take meetings, have portrait sessions, run errands, etc! Friday’s I try to have an ad hoc day where I close the loop on any projects and prep for the following week

What would your dream partnership look like? From the brand, the content, all of it! Dream up your perfect collaboration.

I would honestly love to be teaching virtual seminars on how to take great photos and create compelling content for small business owners and creators.

What is a current blogging goal you’re working on?

Just looking to broaden my reach outside of the Rochester area and connect with those who might need a little guidance.

What’s your most recent WIN with your blog?

I’m finally getting back into an email marketing strategy and I have added really great sign-up forms all over for Flodesk, I’m super excited to see this strategy kick-off!

What is one thing in the blogging industry that frustrates you that you wish you could change?

Follow loops, mass giveaways (feel like these two are already on their way out), and being asked to work for free/exposure whether that’s a blog piece or photography.

How has your content changed since you first started blogging?

I first started as a style blogger and my content was much funnier, day-to-day, I also posted EVERY DAY. Now I most 2 times per month it’s more educational content and promotional for my photography business, much more relaxed, and more of a leg of my overall business versus its sole driver.
