Tell us more about you and your blog

I think every day should feel a little more like the weekend! My blog started as a way to highlight my products and my interior decorating services and then took on a life of it’s own. Now I like to use my blog to inspire others to make every day feel like the weekend, by sharing Charleston/travel recommendations to help you be a tourist in your own town. Plus home decor tips to make your surroundings more enjoyable and other lifestyle content that serves as inspiration for colorful living.

What people don’t realize about blogging is…

It’s super time consuming

What are 3 things you wish you knew about blogging before you started?

  1. How hard it was to convert readers from Instagram.
  2. How valuable Pinterest is for growing your site traffic.
  3. That there are no blog police that get mad at you if you decide to skip a week!

What’s been your most memorable moment as a blogger?

I loved getting to collaborate with some of my favorite bloggers this year, like Beth from Palm Beach Lately & Kelly from Kelly Golightly.

Give us your best tip for maintaining a blog work/life balance?

If your blog brings in 10% of your monthly income, it shouldn’t take half your time! Determine a reasonable amount of monthly income you think you can earn from your blog/Instagram. Decide what percentage of your total monthly income that is, and that’s how much time you should spend on it. I’m working on devoting 1/4 of my time to my blog/Instagram each week, and then stepping away! If your blog is purely a hobby, set a time limit on how much time you are going to spend on it each week or each month and don’t go beyond that limit.
