Tell us more about you and your blog

I was moving to a new city across the country at the time and wanted a way to connect with old friends while also making friends in a new place. I’ve had the opportunity to meet and work with some truly incredible people through my blog (including a new best friend!) and can’t wait to see how this journey continues to evolve. In fact, after meeting an incredible community of responsible fashion bloggers on Instagram, I’m starting to incorporate more green initiatives into my everyday life and upcoming blog content! It’s become a critical component of my blog moving forward, which is super exciting! (Have you tried the 10×10 Challenge yet?!)

What people don’t realize about blogging is…

Blogging takes an incredible amount of work. Between coming up with an idea, spending time fleshing it out, scheduling photos, preparing props and outfits, driving to the location, taking the photos, editing the photos, and actually writing the post…it takes an incredible amount of time and energy. But in general, we get to write about things we love, so it’s fun!

What’s one thing you wish you knew about blogging before you started?

All about SEO. What SEO is, why it matters, how to make it better.

What’s been your most memorable moment as a blogger?

Writing an article for our local Boulder Lifestyle magazine about my favorite places to eat and shop in Louisville. It was a surreal moment for me!

Give us your best tip for maintaining a blog work/life balance

Still figuring this one out… But above all else I think it’s important not to force things. Take time to flesh out your ideas and thoughts. Quality over quantity, in my opinion. Try to add value to your reader’s life through your content. But at the same time, don’t spend all your time working on your blog. Your blog reflects your life and happiness. If you aren’t enjoying yourself, your readers will know. So make sure to make time for YOU. Often times my best content comes from simply living my life.

What’s been your favorite part of being a member of The Blog Societies?

As a part of my PhD Fellowship, I work at different NASA centers all across the country. After meeting some incredible girls at the last Blog Societies Conference, I’m excited to have a network of amazing friends I can connect with in person near each of the different places I travel!
