Tell us more about you and your blog
I used to own an online boutique and my love of writing turned it into more of a blog so that is where Southern Tailored was born. My dad was a writer of sorts and so it’s kind of in my blood. Hopefully one day I will be able to get into travel writing more coupled with the fashion side of things, but we’ll see!
What people don’t realize about blogging is…
It’s not as easy as taking a picture and posting it. There are hours and hours of work behind one photo or one blog post.
What are 3 things you wish you knew about blogging before you started?
- I wish I had known how much fun it is because I would have started one sooner
- Knowing more about how to reach out to brands
- How to create my own website, that would have been key
What’s been your most memorable moment as a blogger?
The first would be when one of my favorite brands I am about to start working with reached out to me. I have loved their products for years and when they reached out, I was jumping up and down with excitement! My other favorite memory are the amazing people I have met through doing this. It has helped me to make some of the best friends I have!

I work full time also and let me tell you, it is not easy. I’m lucky to have a husband who fully supports me and is okay with me staying up until the wee hours of the night working or dragging him to shoots with me.

Who do you love to follow on social media?
My favorite person would probably be Julia Engel from Gal Meets Glam. She is just herself, and that to meet is the greatest thing someone can have.
