Tell us more about you and your blog

I started my beauty blog in 2012 as a place to document makeup and skincare products I tried and loved. Over time, my blog has become a source for women to learn beauty tips and tricks to also finding tried and true products based on their lifestyle and budget.

What people don’t realize about blogging is…

the time commitment involved, the hard work and creativity required to do this as a side hustle.

What’s one thing you wish you knew about blogging before you started?

I wish I had experience with photo and video editing applications. Sometimes it’s best to get familiar with the work involved before diving right in.

What’s been your most memorable moment as a blogger?

Covering New York Fashion Week backstage beauty. The chaos backstage was exciting and of course, getting to chat with makeup artists and supermodels was thrilling.

Give us your best tip for maintaining a blog work/life balance

To maintain a healthy work/life balance, unplug and disconnect from social media when you’re with friends and family.

Instagram or Twitter?

Twitter

Coffee or tea?

Tea

Who is the most interesting person you’ve ever met?

Kelly Cutrone. I met her twice, actually. She was in the DC area for her book signing and I was half excited, half terrified to meet her. I met her again backstage at New York Fashion Week several months later. She came up to me and said, “you look familiar…” I couldn’t believe she remembered me!

What is your guilty pleasure?

Binge watching Netflix shows in my PJs snacking on Oreos and milk.

What’s one product you can’t live without?

L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara.

What’s been your favorite part of being a member of The Blog Societies?

Attending The Blog Societies Conferences have been extremely beneficial for me personally and professionally. I enjoyed connecting with other bloggers outside of my region and building face to face relationships with notable brands.
