Kara of Everyday K Introduction

Hi Kara! What’s the name of your blog.

Everyday K.

Where are you from?

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Tell us a little bit more about you and your blog, Everyday K.

Everyday K is about bringing style to every day. I focus on fashion and styling but love to also talk about beauty and travel too!

Give us your best tip to staying on top of the blog/work/life balance?

I have a full-time office job so I have to schedule “blog” time each week on my calendar. That is the only way I have time to keep up with everything.

Fill in the blank. What people don’t realize about blogging is….

how unglamorous it is. Many times I’m sitting in sweats or pajamas as I’m finishing up a blog post late at night.

What are three things you wish you knew about blogging before you started?

1.) How to build an email list.

2.) How to ignore imposter syndrome.

3.) How to promote posts.

What has blogging taught you/given you that no other career or job has before?

No other job gives the creative outlet and self expression that blogging does.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone just starting out in the blog world?

Learn and utilize SEO & Pinterest from the very beginning.

What does a typical work day for you look like? Whether you’re a full time blogger or not, we’d love to learn what your schedule looks like and how you manage it all.

I work at my full-time job from 8-6 Mon- Thursdays and Friday mornings. I batch write my content on Friday afternoons and also create my to-do list for the next week. Each weeknight I finish one blog “to do” on my list. This can be editing photos, batch writing social media posts or creating pins, etc.

What would your dream partnership look like? From the brand, the content, all of it! Dream up your perfect collaboration.

My dream partnership would be to create a curated wardrobe. Whether it is with one of my favorite brands or designers (Amanda Uprichard, Ulla Johnson, Reformation, and Rebecca Taylor) or a retailer, I would be happy. I would love to put together a wardrobe of pieces that create multiple outfits for all occasions.

What is one thing in the blogging industry that frustrates you that you wish you could change?

I wish the loop giveaways and purchased followers on Instagram could be taken away permanently. They create inflated numbers and many feel like they have to do them to gain followers which then creates a vicious cycle.

How has your content changed since you first started blogging?

Many of my posts now are focused on how to problem solve for my reader. I like to show how to style things in different ways and use what is already in your closet.
