Hi Caitlin! What’s the name of your blog.
Caitlin Olivia.
Where are you from?
Raleigh, North Carolina.
Tell us a little bit more about you and your blog, Caitlin Olivia.
Caitlin Olivia is a little boho corner of the world where we embrace our creativity with fashion, home decor, and teaching! I hope together we can create a space where people feel loved, safe, and inspired.
Give us your best tip to staying on top of the blog/work/life balance?
Time management! Set your to-do list at the beginning of the day and determine what time of the day you will do certain tasks.
Fill in the blank. What people don’t realize about blogging is….
How much time it takes on the backend!
What are three things you wish you knew about blogging before you started?
SEO tips, how to edit with one preset, and how to take better pictures.
What skills and qualities do you think are necessary for a successful and professional blogger?
Confidence, time management, and flexibility.
What has blogging taught you/given you that no other career or job has before?
You have to consider who you are posting for – it’s not just a feed of your life, there has to be a reason.
What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone just starting out in the blog world?
Gain as much knowledge before you start so that you have a really clear idea of where you want to go! Also, find blogger friends on Instagram or on Facebook that are just starting as well!
What makes your blog different from others?
Instead of just having one “look” or “style” – I like to mix together different trends!
What topic do you most enjoy writing about?
Good sales & personal life!
What does a typical work day for you look like? Whether you’re a full time blogger or not, we’d love to learn what your schedule looks like and how you manage it all.
I’m also a teacher, so each day looks a little different. During the summer months (and time off due to COVID-19) I’ve been able to get up, workout, and work on blogging starting at around 10am. During workdays, I wouldn’t be able to work on blogging until my planning period or after school (3:00pm).
What would your dream partnership look like? From the brand, the content, all of it! Dream up your perfect collaboration.
I want to partner with brands that I already love, trust, and use. It would probably be makeup, skincare, or accessories. I would love to receive free products for a blog or Instagram post.
What is a current blogging goal you are working on?
Posting on the blog once weekly and planning Instagram content a week in advance.
What is one thing in the blogging industry that frustrates you that you wish you could change?
How much you make from affiliate links; getting a swipe-up under 10k.
How has your content changed since you first started blogging?
I am more focused on creating content I’m proud of rather than just pushing out content.
What’s your favorite blogging memory or highlight?
Getting accepted to RewardStyle!
