Two weeks ago, we hosted our 8th Annual Blog Societies Conference at the Perry Lane Hotel, a stunning hotel located in downtown Savannah, Georgia. We spent three days networking, attending workshops, listening to speakers, and having creative breakouts.
Whether you’re new around here or have never heard of the event before, we host our annual Blog Societies Conference every summer for 75 of our members. Our goal is to create a weekend where our members can come and learn, meet one another, and go home feeling inspired and motivated.
The 8th Annual Blog Societies Conference
The Location, Perry Lane Hotel
This year, we hosted our 8th Annual Blog Societies Conference at the beautiful Perry Lane Hotel in Savannah, Georgia. Every detail of the property is absolutely gorgeous and we love that the hotel features a pool and rooftop bar for guests to relax. The hotel is located right downtown and is within walking distance of the historic Forsyth Park, restaurants, and shops.
Day 1: Kick-Off Welcome Party
With Flodesk, ShopStyle Collective, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Petal & Pup, Rifle Paper Co., Mud Pie, Cosmedix, and butter London.
To welcome attendees and our brand sponsors to the weekend, we hosted a kick-off welcome party on the roof of the Perry Lane Hotel. Here, attendees could mingle, have a drink, and networks with our sponsors. During the event, attendees were able to check out some of Cosmedix’s best selling products, sign up for a free month of Flodesk, learn more about the initiatives ShopStyle Collective and IHG Hotels and Resorts are working on, view Mud Pie’s newest arrivals, and get some nail polish from butter London.
Day 2: Educational Blogging Workshops
We kicked day two of the conference off with workshops! This year, we had four workshops and it was the first year we had attendees attendees attend all of them. We also had new creatives! We had Crystallace Fenn from Hey Crystallace speaking on collaboration contracts with brands as well as Barbara and Christi of ShopStyle Collective speaking on making more money with affiliates.
New York-based blogger and photographer Allie Provost of Prêt-à-Provost talked about creating video content for TikTok and Reels, and Arica of The Poised Agency and Stephanie of Social By Steph held a workshop together on the art of paid ads and creating compelling content.
We left each workshop with long to-do lists and felt so motivated and inspired to take our blogs to the next level!
Lunch with IT Cosmetics
In between workshops, IT Cosmetics hosted lunch a delicious lunch! We got to learn more about their current initiatives and they had the most beautiful place settings and center pieces!
Happy Hour with Essie
After a full day of workshops, TBS Conference attendees gathered for a happy hour in the library of the Perry Lane Hotel hosted by Essie. Essie shared some of the new polish colors they’re working on an attendees got to take home different polish colors.
Day 3: Speakers & General Session
Every year, we celebrate the last day of the conference with a delicious breakfast, a speaker, and a general session. This year, our co-founders Jessica of An Indigo Day and Cathy of Poor Little It Girl hosted our breakfast before speaking with Megan and Katie of Flodesk and Zeny of Pinterest.
Breakfast with The Blog Societies Co-Founders
Day three started off with breakfast in the Perry Lane Hotel’s conference room with The Blog Societies co-founders Jessica and Cathy! They hosted a round-table style Q&A while attendees enjoyed eggs, bacon, fruit, pastries, and coffee. Such a great way to kick off our final day!
Speaker & General Sessions
After breakfast, we were ready for our speakers! This year, we started with Megan and Katie of Flodesk. The duo shared more about Flodesk and gave us a step-by-step tutorial on creating our first workflow on the platform, plus more insight on email marketing best practices. Next was Zeny of Pinterest, inspiring us all to utilize Pinterest more in our businesses! The two speakers were the perfect way to end a fun filled weekend!
As a fun way to end the weekend, we cheersed with champagne popsicles and had some time to mingle with our speakers and sponsors before saying goodbye.
