Tell us more about you and your blog?
I have always loved fashion and really saw it as an outlet to express my love and passion. Clothing truly is an art form and how decide to dress is an expression of our art. I wanted to be able to share that love and passion with others, hopefully inspiring others to create their own art through fashion. While I still love fashion, I now view my blog as a way to express my thoughts and feelings. Whether it be about fashion, politics or life issues, it is my corner of the internet for me to express what I feel and think.
What people don’t realize about blogging is…
It is more than just pretty pictures. It is an outward expression of my creativity and passion. It is an art form.
What are 3 things you wish you knew about blogging before you started?
- Know your worth, even in the beginning. It is ok to charge people for your time.
- Don’t accept every collaboration that you are offered. It is ok to turn people down if the product does not fit with your brand.
- Find a schedule that works for and stick to it! People are more than likely to follow you, and continue to follow you, if they know what to expect from you and when they can expect that.
What’s been your most memorable moment as a blogger?
This past year I was asked to work with Goodwill Southeast Georgia. With that collaboration I was able to appear on television, dress a local news anchor every day for a week, host a Kendra Scott party and create an entire week of DIY Halloween costumes out of Goodwill finds. Each activity and event was so much fun and it was great to spread awareness and get people excited to shop at their local Goodwill store.
Give us your best tip for maintaining a blog work/life balance?
Remember your “why!” I have found that if I remember “why” I started something in the first place and “why” I continue to work on it, then it is easy for me to keep everything balanced. I remember why it is important and make it work for my life.
