Autumn of Four Seasons of Autumn

Autumn of Four Seasons of Autumn | The Blog Societies

Hi Autumn! What’s the name of your blog?

Four Seasons of Autumn.

Where do you live?

Fenton, MI.

Give us a little background on your blog, Seasons of Autumn, and why you started it.

I’ve always had a passion for cooking and when I became a mom I became even more passionate about sharing the art of home cooking with my son. I want him to have a positive relationship with food and I also want him to enjoy being in the kitchen with me. Turning my passion into a blog (and hopefully one day my full-time job) was a way to catalog and share my recipes. I involve him in the cooking process and I love how at nearly three years old he is always asking to “cook with momma”. It gives me a lot of joy!

What people don’t realize about blogging is….

How much work it is! From content creation, to actually grocery shopping, cooking, photographing and then cataloging the recipes. It is work that I love and that’s why I keep doing it. I hope it replaces my 9-5 job one day, allowing me to work even harder on my true passion!

What are three things you wish you knew about blogging before you started?

1. Growth was going to take time (lots of time).
2. Just because you put your blood sweat and tears into a post, it may not take off.
3. To engage with groups like this from the beginning. I’m not 2 years into blogging and just now engaging with a community like this. I didn’t know they existed.

What’s your favorite blogging memory or highlight?

Last Thanksgiving I partnered with some great interior stylist friends of mine. They created a great fall look in my house and I created an entire Thanksgiving meal. Together we created some amazing content and it was so much fun! We both learned from each other and helped each other grow.

Give us your best tip to staying on top of the blog work/life balance?

Be consistent and plan at least a month out. If I’m not looking ahead at least a month out, I fall behind and my content isn’t consistent. Planning is key to consistency.
